GUItek has been in business in Houston, TX since 1992 providing Computer Consulting, Network Integration, Programming, Support, Database Integration from DBase, Paradox, Btrieve and others all the way to several flavors of SQL (MySQL, DB2, Oracle, SQL Server).
The name........ well, that requires explanation. Back in the late 1980s, the computer magazines were raving about Graphical User Interface (nicknamed GUI (pronounced goo-ee)) environments like: Windows, OS/2, Macintosh, GEM, X Windows, etc. So the founder decided to go towards that route and sought out graphical computing. By 1990, was very proficient in their operation. When the decision was made to start computer consulting, a name had to be decided. A friend said: you’re technical at GUI’s, why don’t you call it GUItech? Then he said: make it a little more unique and suggested: GUItek. (Just in case you were wondering where the name came from...) So in 1992, GUItek was started.
Our customers started asking for Web Design in the mid to late 1990s when the Internet took off. They then asked for their sites to be hosted. So in 1998, GT Virtual Internet was added as a service of GUItek.
We are in our eighth year of providing Cost-Effective Web-Hosting and adding new services like Dedicated Servers at an unheard of value. One of the things that sets our Dedicated Servers apart from others in the industry is redundancy in every server configuration from the entry level on up. We are changing the standards that other providers will be measured by. Not just price! Most dedicated server hosts only have redundancy at the high end and not at an affordable price. All dedicated servers being offered will have at minimum; mirrored hard drives, maxed out memory, multiple DNS and Backup MX E-Mail Servers on separate networks, in whatever configuration you choose for your solution. We will always provide good value for the money in a simple solution with great support.
We launched our Nationwide Dialup with Web Accelerator. It Includes 5 Gig webspace (that can have a domain name registered to it for a non-business site) and unlimited e-mail addresses. If you ever leave, you can keep your e-mail addresses for life for free! If you’d like a business website hosted with your dialup account, it’s an additional 3 bucks a month.

Our Web-Hosting bandwidth and Internet Service bandwidth are on separate networks. Don’t worry about our Internet Service stealing bandwidth from your website and slowing it down like many other providers that share the same bandwidth for both to cut corners. We decided to do it right from the outset in 1998, should we ever offer Internet access.
